WASPA Games — Where the Water Sector Comes Together

WASPA Games is the official sports, culture, and talent platform of the Water & Sanitation Providers Association (WASPA), bringing together water and sanitation utilities, regulators, and partner institutions from across Kenya for an annual celebration of teamwork, wellness, and shared purpose.

Born out of WASPA's broader mission to advocate for safely managed water and sanitation, the Games extend that spirit beyond boardrooms and conferences into the playing field, the stage, and the track — reminding everyone in the sector that the people who deliver clean water and safe sanitation every day also deserve moments to compete, connect, and celebrate together.

Our Story

What began as a modest inter-utility sports day has grown into one of the most anticipated fixtures on the water sector's calendar. Each edition brings staff from water service providers, boards, and regulatory bodies together to compete across match-based sports, indoor games, track and field events, music and cultural performances, and inclusive special-needs categories — all under one roof, for one cause.

Beyond the medals and trophies, WASPA Games has become a space where colleagues from different utilities meet as teammates and rivals, where friendships are built across organisational lines, and where the sector's talent — on the field and on stage — is given a platform to shine.

What We Stand For

Unity Across the Sector Water and sanitation utilities across Kenya operate independently, but share the same mission. WASPA Games creates a common ground where staff from different organisations compete side by side, strengthening bonds that carry back into everyday collaboration.

Wellness & Team Spirit A healthy workforce is a productive workforce. Through sport, dance, music, and friendly competition, WASPA Games promotes physical wellbeing and camaraderie among the people who keep the sector running.

Inclusion for All Our special needs disciplines — including para-athletics, wheelchair racing, blind chess, and seated volleyball — ensure that every member of the water sector family has a place to participate and compete, regardless of ability.

Culture & Talent From choirs and folk dances to solo verse and choral performances, WASPA Games celebrates the rich cultural diversity within the sector, giving voice to talent that often goes unseen in day-to-day utility work.

Who Participates

Every edition welcomes teams and individual participants from WASPA member water and sanitation utilities, along with affiliated bodies such as National and County governments, regulators, and sector partners — all competing under a shared spirit of fair play and fellowship.
